Roger Fenner is a Utah-based firearms instructor and armorer focused on responsible training, disciplined preparation, and practical safety for churches and faith-based organizations. His work centers on helping security teams think clearly about protection, response, and risk without losing sight of the mission and character of the church they serve.
Roger was raised in a Christian home with his father serving as a pastor, but did not truly follow Jesus in his early years. On February 6, 2000, while living in Las Vegas, he hesitantly attended an evening church service with a coworker, where he had a life-changing encounter with Jesus that marked a complete turning point. From that moment forward, he committed his life to following Christ and was fundamentally changed. That commitment continues to guide both his life and his work with churches today.
Roger previously served in the United States Marine Corps and later in the Army National Guard. During his time in the Guard he served as a Military Police officer and participated in the Homeland Response Force (HRF) mission, completing FEMA training related to incident management and emergency response. These experiences reinforced the importance of preparation, coordination, and calm decision-making during stressful situations.
In addition to his military service, Roger has spent many years working in leadership roles within the technology sector. That background influences his training approach, emphasizing structured thinking, risk awareness, and disciplined decision-making rather than reaction or impulse.
Through ForgePoint, Roger provides training, consultation, and services designed to help individuals and organizations approach safety with maturity and responsibility. The goal is not simply to teach technical skills, but to help people develop the judgment required to carry serious responsibility well.
